Thomas, deserted by his long term girlfriend, takes to the open road on a one week vacation to live his Cowboy dreams of freedom. He hires a street musician as his personal jukebox. Together they drive into the countryside in search of adventure. They furiously clash during a canoe outing and split up. Thomas paddles on, is run down by a passing pleasure boat, and ends up in a coma. His friends visit him in hospital and make helpless efforts to bring him round. One year later he lives in a small town and celebrates his first birthday.

København 2002. A middle-aged man, a late, confused revenant of Friedrich Schiller, meets a camera team in front of the Royal Theatre. He abducts them through the city. Together they eat pølser. Together they watch TV and are expelled from an appartment. And finally he lures his audience onto the stage of the Bådteatret. Along the way he hammers into everyone why theatre is – or rather should be – a moral institution.

New York 2001. A middle-aged man travels from Brooklyn to Manhattan to hand over a small red package. When? Same time. Where? Same place. To whom? The appointment fails, the package ends up in the garbage. Nevertheless its contents disappear. How? Where to? Why? No matter, finally it is gone – quitting time – dinner, drinks, music. Back to Brooklyn. The moon rises over the East River. And there it is again, the package. Why so? Where from? Or is it another one? Start all over? And what is actually in it?
